Silencing Signals per room category

If your property doesn't sell a particular room category, the room-type Signals for it are noise rather than insight. You can silence Signals for any category from the Room mapping page.

How to silence a category

  1. Open the Room mapping page from the Rate Radar nav.

  2. Find the card for the category.

  3. Click the Signals on / Signals off toggle on the card to switch it off.

A silenced category stops generating room-type Signals. Hotel-level Signals continue to fire as normal, because those look at the comp set as a whole rather than at individual categories.

Checking which categories are silenced

The Signals Hub shows your silenced-category state in the header row next to the filter buttons. You'll see one of two labels:

  • All room categories active — every category is generating Signals.

  • X of 6 room categories silenced — at least one category has been turned off.

When to use this

The most common reason is fit. For example, if your property has no Family rooms, you won't sell them, and competitor Family-room moves don't tell you anything useful. Silencing the category keeps the Hub focused on the Signals you can actually act on.

You can turn Signals back on for a category at any time by clicking the toggle again on the Room mapping card. There's no penalty for changing your mind — the next price update will generate Signals for the category as normal.

See Mapping competitor rooms for the rest of the Room mapping page.
