Using the Explorer search filters

The search filters sit at the top of every Explorer page (except Budget). They set which dates you're looking at, what you're comparing them with, and how revenue is shown.

Your filters carry across Explorer. If you set them on the Overview, the other pages use them too, and Explorer remembers them the next time you visit.

The Explorer search filters: the main dates, the comparison dates, Stay or Creation, Revenue, View, and Apply.

Choosing your dates

Click the first date box to choose the dates you want to look at. You can pick a ready-made range from the list:

  • Today: today only.

  • Last 7 days: the seven days up to and including yesterday.

  • Last 28 days: the 28 days up to and including yesterday.

  • Month to date: the first of this month to yesterday.

  • Year to date: 1 January to yesterday.

To choose your own dates, click the start date and then the end date on the calendar, and click Apply in the calendar. You can choose dates in the future to see what is already booked.

Comparing with another period

Click the date box after vs to compare your dates with another period.

  • Prev year (DOW): the same days of the week last year. DOW is short for day of the week. Explorer moves your dates back 52 weeks, so a Saturday is compared with a Saturday.

  • Prev year: the same dates last year.

  • Previous period: the same number of days immediately before your dates.

For example, if your dates are 1 to 31 August 2026, Prev year (DOW) compares them with 2 August to 1 September 2025, Prev year with 1 to 31 August 2025, and Previous period with 1 to 31 July 2026.

You can also choose your own comparison dates on the calendar, so you can compare any dates with any other dates. Click Clear to remove the comparison.

In charts and tables by date, the two periods are always matched by day of the week, whichever comparison you choose. This means a Monday is always compared with a Monday.

Stay or Creation

This filter decides whether Explorer searches by the dates the guest stays or the date the booking was made.

  • Stay: the dates the guest stays. Use this to see how a period performed.

  • Creation: the date the booking was made. Use this to see what was booked during a period.

Switching between the two changes what some pages show. RevPAR (revenue per available room) and occupancy, for example, only appear when Stay is selected.

Revenue

The Revenue filter sets how revenue figures are shown.

  • Gross (inc. tax): revenue including VAT.

  • Net (ex tax): revenue with VAT taken off.

  • Net (ex tax & com): revenue with VAT and commission taken off.

You won't see this filter on Avg. LoS or Lead time, because those pages don't show revenue.

View

The View filter groups the reports by date into days, weeks, or months. Choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. In the weekly view, each row is labelled w/c, which is short for week commencing, and weeks start on a Monday. The reports by day of the week only appear when View is set to Daily.

You won't see this filter on Sources or Segments, because those pages have no reports by date.

Applying your changes

Nothing on the page changes until you click Apply at the end of the filter bar. This is a different button from the Apply inside the calendar, which only sets the dates. If the figures don't look right after changing a filter, check that you've clicked it.
