Using the Sources view
The Sources page shows where your bookings come from, and the rooms, revenue, and commission from each source. It's the right place to see how much of your business is direct, how much comes through third parties, and what you pay in commission.
A source is where a booking came from, as recorded in your property management system (PMS). Your own website, the phone, and an online travel agency are all sources.

The summary cards
Four cards at the top of the page show the totals for your chosen dates.
Rooms: the number of room nights sold.
Room revenue: revenue from rooms.
Commission: the commission on those bookings.
Lost: the room nights you lost to cancellations that you couldn't charge for. This is the same figure as CXL Loss on the Overview. CXL is short for cancellation.
Under each total, the card lists the five sources with the highest figures. A line such as Top 5 of 10 sources tells you how many sources had a figure in your dates.
Rooms and revenue by source
This report shows the rooms, room revenue, commission, and ADR (average daily rate) for every source.
The table starts with a Total row. Below it, your sources are split into two groups, 3rd Party and Direct, each with its own total and the individual sources listed beneath.
Beacon groups every source as third-party unless you've marked it as direct. See Marking your direct sources.
Room type and revenue by source
This report takes each room type and splits it into 3rd Party and Direct. Use it to see which room types sell best direct, room revenue, commission and ADR.
Products and revenue by source
This report shows the number of products sold and the revenue from them for each source, grouped in the same way.
Where commission comes from
Beacon reads the commission for each source from your PMS. If the figure for a source isn't right, or you’ve run a temporary promotion and increased your commission for a set booking and stay window, you can override or apply these in your property settings. See Customising commission.
The Sources page has no View filter, because none of its reports are by date. To learn how to read the charts and tables, see Reading Explorer reports.
