Starting Your Free Trial

Getting started with Rate Radar is straightforward and takes just a few minutes. Your 14-day free trial gives you complete, unlimited access to all features with no credit card required.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit the Rate Radar website and click the "Start Free Trial" button to begin.

Enter Your Details

On the signup page, you'll need to provide:

  • Work email: Enter your business email address

  • First name: Your first name

  • Last name: Your last name

  • Password: Create a secure password for your account

Step 2: Add Your Property Details

The onboarding wizard will guide you through setting up Rate Radar. You'll see a progress indicator showing four steps, with the first being your property setup.

  • Full Property Name: Enter your hotel's complete name as displayed on Booking.com (e.g., "Sofitel London St James").

  • City or Area: Enter the city or area where your property is located (e.g., "Westminster").

  • Country: Select your property’s country from the dropdown menu.

  • Number of Rooms: Enter the total number of rooms in your property.

  • Currency: Choose your preferred currency for viewing rates.

  • PMS (Property Management System): Select your property management system from the dropdown menu.

Once all information is entered, click "Continue" to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Create Your Comp Set

Next, you'll select up to 5 competitor hotels to monitor alongside your property.

Browse Local Suggestions

Rate Radar provides intelligent suggestions of hotels in your area. For each suggested property, you'll see:

  • A photo of the hotel

  • Property name

  • Street address

  • Guest rating (e.g., "76 Good")

  • Number of reviews

To add a suggested hotel, simply click the "Add" button. Use the "Previous" and "Next" buttons to browse more suggestions.

Add Competitors Manually

If you want to track a specific hotel not shown in suggestions:

  1. Scroll to the "Add manually" section

  2. Paste the competitor's Booking.com property URL into the field

  3. Click "Search"

  4. The property will be added to your selected list

Manage Your Selection

Your selected competitors appear in the "Selected" section at the bottom, showing how many of your 5 slots you've filled. To remove a competitor, click the remove icon (circle with X) next to their name.

Finish Setup

Once you've selected your competitors (you need at least 1, up to 5), click "Finish setup" to proceed to the final verification step.

Step 4: Verify Your Email Address

After completing your property and competitor setup, you'll need to verify your email address before accessing Rate Radar.

Check Your Inbox

Rate Radar will send a 6-digit authorisation code to the email address you provided during signup. The email should arrive within a few moments.

Didn't Receive the Email?

If you don't see the verification email:

  • Check your spam or junk folder

  • Click "resend" to request a new verification code

  • Ensure you entered your email address correctly during signup

Once verified, you'll be taken directly to your Rate Radar dashboard and can start monitoring competitor rates immediately.
